Artist Bio:

Wanda Blake

Wanda Blake is a life-long artist who developed as a painter on the East Coast and now resides in both New Jersey and New Mexico.  In the more recent period of her life she has found inspiration in the landscapes and skyscapes of New Mexico.

Her formal art training began at the age of 12. She attended the School of Fine and Industrial Arts, the Museum of Modern Art, The New School Parsons, the Art Center of Northern New Jersey and the DuCret School of Art in Plainfield, New Jersey. 

Wanda taught at the DuCret School for 20 years in courses ranging from the fine arts to graphic arts. She taught at the Center for Contemporary Art in Bedminster, New Jersey and currently teaches classes in her own studio.

The recipient of numerous awards, Wanda’s work has a evolved from a style with an immediacy of color and brushstroke to abstract landscapes, Wanda’s impressive work has been included in exhibits in Cork, Ireland and in numerous galleries and corporate settings in New York and New Jersey including Nabisco Corporate Art Center of New Jersey, the Mill Gallery in Lafayette, Lever Brothers, Blackwell Street Gallery, Transistor Devices, Roxbury Art Center, and the Visiting Nurses Association of Northern New Jersey.

Wanda’s paintings now appear in homes in the Santa Fe and Albuquerque area. Her paintings are owned by collectors of her work throughout the United States.
